HUSNA SAMER

ABOUT

Husna Samer’s practice explores identity, place, spirituality, and the spaces between the tangible and intangible. Working through surrealism and symbolism, she creates dreamlike works that consider how repeated acts of remembrance, devotion, and longing shape the self.

Her work is concerned with states of transition and contradiction—between stillness and movement, remembering and forgetting, permanence and change.

Drawing from personal and collective memory, cultural influences, and Sufi thought, Samer uses symbolism and colour to explore the idea of the self as something fluid and constantly becoming.
